A peaceful, compassionate goodbye in the place they love most.
Saying goodbye is one of the hardest decisions we make for our beloved pets. When the time comes, we believe they deserve to pass with dignity, surrounded by love, in the comfort of home.
At Cygnus, we offer at-home euthanasia to ensure your pet’s final moments are calm, painless, and filled with peace. There is no requirement to have used our other services—we trust that you know your pet best but we are also here to help you navigate your decision. When you believe it’s time, we’re here to support you- often with same day availability.
✔ A compassionate, in-home visit from a veterinarian who will guide you through the process with care.
✔ Sedation to ensure comfort, helping your pet drift into a relaxed, deep sleep before the final step.
✔ The euthanasia procedure, performed with the utmost gentleness and respect.
✔ Memorial keepsakes, chosen by you, created by Final Gift crematory services. Clear and easy details will be provided.
✔ Cremation services, preformed by Final Gift crematory services, with the options of private cremation and the return of your pet’s ashes or group cremation without. This is a very personal choice and from experience it would seem about half of pet owners opt for the private cremation with return of their pet’s ashes and half choose a cremation without the return of ashes. This is a very personal choice but know that both are correct.
This service is for pet owners who feel it’s time to say goodbye and want their pet’s final moments to be as stress-free, comfortable, and loving as possible.
There’s no perfect moment—only the one that feels right for your pet and your family. If your pet is in continual pain, struggling to complete normal behaviors, eating much less, or withdrawing from normal interactions, it may be time to consider euthanasia.
You don’t have to make this decision alone—if you need guidance, we’re here to help. Sometimes other medical advice may be considered first and we are here to talk about that should you want to.
We start by gently but deeply sedating your pet, allowing them to relax into a deep peaceful sleep. Once they are completely at ease, we administer a final medication (the route varies depending on the animal) that painlessly ceases vital functions.
The process is quiet, peaceful, and free from distress.
Yes. We encourage family members and other pets to be present if they wish.
We respect your wishes and create a space that feels right for you.
Immediate aftercare is handled by Cygnus and then Final Gift crematory services. Final Gift offers cremation services with the option for private cremation, where your pet’s ashes will be returned to you or, if you prefer, they can also arrange communal cremation where no ashes are returned. Alternatively, we can provide guidance if you wish to handle aftercare yourself.
This decision is very personal and from our experience we have found an even split between private or group cremation with pet parents on which they choose.
Grief is a natural part of saying goodbye, and you don’t have to go through it alone. We can guide you to pet loss resources to help you through this difficult time.
